Two New CPPPH Workshops Coming To Los Angeles on June 4, 2016

Three physicians are presenting on the importance of funding Wellbeing Committees and how the effectiveness of a WBC is impacted by the absence of financial support. Bruce Jackson, MD; Laurie Reynard, MD; and Karen Miotto, MD are leading the workshop Snapshots of Medical Staff Wellbeing Committees: A Closer Look at the Role of Financial Support from 9:30 to 12:30 at the USC Medical Center.  Tom Curtis of Nossaman LLP will weigh in with the attorney’s view of the significance of who pays for what elements.
 
In the afternoon, Paul Earley, MD presents on Effective Treatment for Safety Sensitive Workers When the Safety Sensitive Workers Are Physicians. He will be covering the elements of effective treatment, evaluation needs, reentry and support systems as well as ongoing treatment of chronic conditions and managing public opinion. Dr. Earley is the Medical Director of the Georgia Professionals Health Program.  Tom Curtis will discuss the special criteria for safety sensitive workers from a legal perspective.
